To all Communities:
We are so sad to have to write another letter about another tragedy. The Salt Lake Interfaith Roundtable wishes to express its deepest condolences for those that have lost their lives in the recent tragedy at two Mosques in New Zealand. These condolences include the grieving families and all those suffering from these tragedies. We are deeply saddened by these events. We must re-double our efforts to love one another. We must redouble our efforts to love people that may seem different than ourselves. We must redouble our efforts to eliminate xenophobia. We must redouble our efforts to create more understanding for all people. And we are re-doubling our efforts to build bridges among people of various faiths and beliefs to build a world of peace and harmony for all of us. We will do our best to act locally.
Now is the time to embrace people of all walks of life.
We are providing copies of this letter to the Islamic Society of Greater Salt Lake and others. We understand that this impacts our own wonderful Muslim community in Utah. Please know that we have an open heart and are crying. But that we are also devoted to action, to protect all faiths and belief systems.
Please accept our prayers, blessings and love for all affected. We pray that no one suffer from any act of hatred anymore.
